A public health policy and evaluation expert with field experience in Africa, Dr. Geli, is currently a post-doctoral researcher at Resourcesfor the Future (RFF), a Washington DC based think tank, where she conducts policy research and analysis to address antibiotic resistance by identifying policy options available to the developing countries.

Prior to joining RFF, Dr. Geli held a position at the Swedish Institute for Infectious Disease Control researching policy questions ranging from sound vaccination policies to appropriate responses to bioterrorism threats. In parallel, she also provided guidance for the national Swedish Strategic Programme for the Rational Use of Antimicrobial Agents and Surveillance of Resistance. She has worked with the World Health Organization on setting up systems for community surveillance of antimicrobial resistance and use in developing countries.

Dr. Geli has been a visiting scholar of both Harvard School of Public Health and Medical University of South Carolina. Her work has appeared in Acta Pediatrica, Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy, Journal of Clinical Microbiology, Journal of Mathematical Biology, Journal of Theoretical Biology, Microbial Drug Resistance, Primary Health Care Research & Development, Scandinavian Journal of Infectious Diseases.
