1. The Sierra Leone Embassy in collaboration with the Sierra Leone Arc of Hope hosted a picnic-like meeting in Washington DC on May 30, 2009 at 4821 Colorado Ave, NW, Washington DC 20011. The event marked the official launching of the Sierra Leone Arc of Hope. 2. Thank you. 3. Sierra Leone Arc of Hope was in attendance at the Leadership for Health African First Ladies Health Summit in Los Angeles, California, April 20-21, 2009. 4. His Excellency, the President, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, and Her Excellency, the First Lady of Sierra Leone, Mrs. Sia Koroma have fully endorsed the Sierra Leone Arc of Hope. 5. The Minister of Health and Sanitations for Sierra Leone, Hon. Sheku T. Koroma has also endorsed the Sierra Leone Arc of Hope. The Minister has pledged support from his ministry to provide assistance to the organization. He applauds the foundation members for a noble mission for Sierra Leone, and says the country badly needs such project. 6. Two energetic and enthusiastic media gurus have joined the Sierra Leone Arc of Hope as the Public Relations Officers (PROs) for the organization. They are: Mr. Anthony Kamara, US Bureau Chief for the Patriotic Vanguard, and Mr. Adeyemi Paul, Proprietor, Sierra Express Media These two gentlemen have fully endorsed the Sierra Leone Arc of Hope, and have committed their expertise to its mission. 7. The Sierra Leone Arc of Hope will host a fundraising dinner and dance in Sierra Leone on December 18, 2009 at the Hill Station Country Lodge. The Sierra Leone Arc of Hope has formed partnerships with the Afro-European Medical and Research Network (AEMRN) of Switzerland, and Africa-Finland, a non-governmental and political organization in Finland. 9. Join the Arc of Hope, our sister organization in Freetown, Sierra Leone, on December 18, 2009 at the Hill Station Country Club for an extra ordinary event with His Excellencies the President and First Lady, and the Vice President and his wife as Grand Chief Patrons. This will be the kick-off of Christmas festivities in Sa Lone! |
